the
atchison family

We began this journey in 1997 with the installation of our first 30x100 greenhouse. While working full time, Laurie completed many courses online and through NAIT to be able to gain knowledge of not only growing, but running a business as well prior to this. We expanded two years later and welcomed a diverse customer and visitor base during this time as well as beyond. Laurie has a degree in Horticulture, a diploma in Agriculture, Business Administration and Computer Programs. As well as working full time, Bill was the builder, the maintenance guru and ran the day to day operation of the facilities. Our children were very young at this time and they enjoyed welcoming visitors to our property, helping make it an enjoyable and memorable experience as well as helping in the greenhouses. We had a “petting zoo” of sorts that our visitors enjoyed - pot bellied pigs, rabbits, chickens, a donkey, sheep and horses.

Due to Bill having a workplace head injury accident in 2004, it was decided in 2005 to close the greenhouses. Time went by, he recovered and we continued to work outside the farm. In 2021, he received a great MRI and we then began planning, building and organizing to reopen our business! This time better than ever! Max has completed his Horticulture Degree with distinction. He also has diplomas in Design and Photography. Sarah joined us as well, with her background in Chemistry and Lab Analysis. We have purchased facilities from a local greenhouse grower that has retired and began in 2021 dismantling the structures, moving the stock home, etc. This continued in 2022 and one greenhouse was rebuilt and was ready for opening in May of 2023! In the summer of 2023 we rebuilt greenhouse number 2. In the summer of 2024 we will erect the third and final greenhouse (at this time). We absolutely loved welcoming you back!
